The ever changing pace of the modern world demands the ability to dynamically adjust and adapt to new technologies and conditions. Our department has been an exemplary model in meeting this end, founded on a strong tradition of exploration and foresight, and continues to stand atop as one of the leading chemistry departments in the country.

Our department was founded in 1951, and graduated its first three students in 1955. Since then, we have graduated over 2500 students, all of who have been active contributors to the molding of modern Korea.

Each of our 30 distinguished faculty members come from one of 6 subfields of chemistry that include physical, organic, analytical, inorganic, bio, and polymer chemistry. Together with over 200 students, an expansive international network, and world-class research centers, we represent the forefront of undergraduate and graduate education.

Our department continues to make improvements in our programs, constantly promoting high-quality education and fostering an environment for ground-breaking research. We will continue to make strides in these areas, bringing long-lasting impact to the world.
