We are pleased to officially open nominations for the 2026 Tang Prize in Sinology. It is pleasure and honor to invite you to nominate one Sinologist whom you deem post deserving of the prize. Candidates should be scholoars who have made important contributions in the field of Sinology. The Tang Prize in Sinology recognizes the study of Sinology in its broadest sense, awarding outstanding research on China and its related fields.

During this cycle, nominations may be submitted via our online nominations system using the login ID at the bottom of this letter, or as a hard copy nomination using registered (air)mail of our prepaid DHL courier service. Details regarding the nomination process, secrecy requirements, and guidelines on how wo make a nomination are explained in the enclosed attachments. Nominations must be submitted by September 15, 2025. To ensure the integrity of the nomination preocess, we cordially request that you treat your nomination as confidential and refrain from making joint nominations and from making known your nomination to others, including the nominee. Self-nominations are not allowed. Individuals who have deceased are not eligible as nominees. For confidentiality reasons, please do not use fax, emil, or phone to submit nominations.
