국제대학원 재입학 및 논문제출자격재부여 안내

1. 대상

1) 재입학

대학원학칙에 의거 제적 또는 퇴학한 자

※ 본교 학칙개정에 따라 재입학 지원기한이 폐지됨. 단, 정원의 여석이 있는 경우, 소속대학장의 제청에 의하여 총장이 재입학을 허가할 수 있으며 1회에 한함.

※ 재입학 지원 불가자

① 재학연한 내에 소정의 전 과정을 이수하지 못한 자

(재학연한: 재입학 전 재학기간(학적이 있던 기간-휴학기간도 포함)을 포함하여 석사학위과정은 7년, 박사학위과정은 11년을 초과할 수 없음. 재입학전 재학기간 중의 휴학기간은 산입하나 제적/자퇴 후 재입학 전까지의 기간은 산입하지 아니함)

② 징계에 의하여 퇴학처분을 받은 자 

③ 과거에 재입학한 사실이 있는 자

④ 성적불량제적으로 제적된 자

2) 논문제출자격재부여

학위청구논문 제출연한이 초과되어 학위를 취득하지 못한 수료자(징계 등의 사유로 학위를 취득하지 못한 수료자 제외) 중 논문제출자격시험 (외국어시험 및 종합시험)에 합격한 자

※ 단, 영구수료 전에 외국어시험에 합격하지 못한 경우 각 학과에서 요구하는 일정성적 이상의 공인어학능력시험(유효기간 이내 성적)을 제출하여야 함

- 2026년 3월 논문제출자격재부여 유효성적: 2024. 3. 1. 이후 응시 성적)을 제출하여야함.

- 시험 종류: TOEFL, TOEIC, TEPS, IELTS 등 학과별 외국어시험 합격기준에 해당하는 자료

- 제출 방법: 각 학과에서 정한 합격선 이상의 성적표를 제출 기간 내 국제대학원 이메일(gsis@ewha.ac.kr)로 제출 (성적 기준 문의처: 국제대학원 행정실)

- 공인어학능력시험 성적은 해당 기관에 조회하며, 조회 결과 불일치시 불합격 처리 및 논문제출자격 재부여 신청자격이 박탈됨.

※ (2026-1학기 선발부터 시행) 또한 영구수료 전 종합시험 미합격자의 경우 논문제출자격재부여 자격시험을 신청할 수 있으며, 각 학과에서 자격시험을 시행하고 합격자에 대하여 논문제출자격재부여 전형 절차를 진행할 수 있음. 논문제출자격재부여 자격시험 응시가 필요한 경우, <논문제출자격재부여 자격시험 신청서>를 제출하여야 함.

- 논문제출자격재부여는 1회만 신청 가능하므로 논문제출자격재부여 자격시험에 불합격한 경우, 향후 논문제출자격재부여 신청 불가함

- 논문제출자격재부여 자격시험은 논문제출자격시험 중 ‘종합시험’에 준하는 시험이므로 본교 종합시험 및 통합과정 자격시험 관련 규정에 준하여 시행되며 합격하여야 논문제출자격재부여 심사 대상이 됨
 ※ 논문제출자격재부여는 재부여 승인여부와 관계없이 1회만 신청이 가능하므로, 재부여 신청 시 논문 제출 잔여 기한 내 (석사2년, 박사3년 이내) 논문 제출이 가능한지 등을 판단하여 신중히 신청하여야 함.

※ 논문제출자격재부여 지원 불가자

① 2026년 2월 영구 수료 예정자

② 신입생 모집을 중단하고, 재적생이 남아있지 않은 학과(전공)는 논문제출자격 재부여에서 제외됨. 단, 일반대학원 한국학과는 일반대학원 소속으로 논문제출자격 재부여 신청이 가능함

③ 과거에 논문제출자격재부여 신청한 사실이 있는 자

④ 징계 등의 사유로 영구 수료 처리된 자

2. 원서 접수기간 및 접수처

- 접수기간: 2025. 10. 22.(수) - 11. 5.(수) 17:00

- 접수처: 국제대학원 행정실(gsis@ewha.ac.kr) 이메일로 제출

※학과장과 반드시 면담 후 제출하며, 모든 서류는 추후 원본 서류로 요청할 수 있음

3. 제출서류 

1) 재입학

재입학원서(2-1 서식/첨부), 재입학 소명자료(2-1-A 서식/첨부), 성적증명서

2) 논문제출자격재부여:

논문제출자격재부여원서(2-2 서식/첨부), 논문계획서(2-2 서식/첨부), 성적증명서, 재적증명서, 논문제출자격재부여 자격시험 신청서(2-2 서식/첨부, 해당자에 한함), 외국어성적(해당자에 한함)

* 제출증명서는 제출일로부터 3개월 이내 발행분에 한함.

* 성적증명서의 경우 국제학과 지원자는 영문으로, 한국학과 지원자는 국문으로 제출

4. 원서교부

공지사항에 첨부된 첨부파일을 다운로드하여 사용.

5. 허가자 발표

1) 재입학: 2025년 12월 초 

2) 논문제출자격재부여: 2026년 1월 중순

※ [유레카 → 학사/학적 → 재입학/논문제출자격재부여 신청결과조회] 에서 신청 결과 및 허가자 유의사항 확인 (재입학 및 논문제출자격재부여 허가자 이메일 개별안내 예정)

6. 유의사항

1) 재입학 및 논문 제출 자격 재부여가 허가된 자는 등록 기간에 등록하여야 하며, 등록 시 수업료와 입학금(당해 연도 입학금, 입학금의 경우 대학원에 해당)을 함께 납부하여야 합니다.

2) 정해진 기간 내에 수강 신청과 등록 절차를 완료하지 아니할 때에는 재입학 및 논문 제출 자격 재부여를 취소할 수 있습니다.

3) 논문 제출 자격 재부여자는 허가받은 학기를 포함하여 석사 2년 이내, 박사 3년 이내에 논문을 제출하여 합격하여야 하며, 논문 심사 합격 시까지 계속 논문 등록을 하여야 합니다.

4) 재입학자 및 논문 제출 자격 재부여자는 학칙을 성실히 준수하여야 합니다.

5) 제적 전 학기의 평균 평점이 2.50 미만인 학생이 재입학 직후 학기 평균 평점 2.50 미만의 성적을 받은 때에는 성적 불량으로 제적됩니다.

Re-admission & Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Application 

for Spring 2026

1. Eligibility

1) Re-admission

Students who dropped out or were expelled according to Graduate School Regulations.

※ The restriction on the re-admission period has been lifted due to an amendment to school regulations. The dean of Ewha GSIS can recommend the re-admission of the applicant to the president of the university in case of vacancy in the appropriate degree program (either Master’s or Doctoral Program) and GSIS as a whole by the year of re-admission semester. Re-admission is restricted to one time only. Depending on the expected semester to register on re-admission, application may not be available if there is no quota left. Please refer to each semester announcement for detailed information.

※ Ineligibility for Re-admission

① Students who failed to complete the necessary academic requirements (required coursework) during the maximum time given to obtain a degree 

(Students who are granted readmission should complete all of the requirements for their degree within the designated period - 7 years for master's degrees and 11 years for doctoral degrees. This designated period includes the semesters during which students were enrolled in Ewha classes or had applied for a leave of absence. It does not include semesters during which students have completely dropped out of Ewha and removed their name from the registrar.)

② Students who were expelled for disciplinary reasons 

③ Students who have already been granted readmission in the past 

④ Students who were expelled for poor academic performance 

2) Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission

A student who has been unable to receive Master’s/Doctoral degree due to the expiration of the thesis/dissertation submission period (graduate student must receive an approval on her submitted thesis/dissertation within 7 years from entrance year for master’s program or 11 years for doctoral program) but has passed the Thesis/dissertation submission eligibility exam (foreign language exam and comprehensive exam) can be given one more opportunity to apply for dissertation submission eligibility via application process. Students who completed coursework but did not conferred a degree due to other reasons such as disciplinary reasons are not able to apply for Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility.

※ However, those who have not passed the foreign language exam before permanent completion can also apply by submitting an official language proficiency test score(with valid test results) that meets the minimum requirements set by the department.

- Valid score for the 2026 March thesis submission eligibility: Test scores taken after March 1, 2024, must be submitted.

- Test types: TOEFL, TOEIC, TEPS, IELTS, and other tests meeting the foreign language exam criteria required by each department.

- Submission method: Submit the official score report that meets the passing score set by the department within the specified period via email to the GSIS office (gsis@ewha.ac.kr) (For criteria details, please contact the GSIS office).

- The official language proficiency test scores will be verified with the respective institutions. If there is a discrepancy in the results, the applicant will be disqualified, and eligibility for thesis submission will be revoked.

※(Starting from Spring 2026 application)  Also, those who have not passed the comprehensive exam before permanent completion can apply by submitting a <re-authorization qualification exam application> to take the exam conducted by each department.

- The re-authorization for thesis/dissertation submission may be applied for only once; therefore, if an applicant fails the ‘qualification exam for re-authorization’, they will not be permitted to apply for re-authorization again.

- The re-authorization qualification exam is equivalent to the comprehensive exam among the thesis submission qualification exams. Therefore, it is conducted in accordance with the regulations related to the comprehensive exam and combined M-D qualification exams of this university. Passing the exam is required to be eligible for the evaluation of re-authorization of thesis submission eligibility.

※ The re-authorization of thesis submission eligibility can only be applied for once, regardless of whether the re-authorization is approved or not. Therefore, when applying, applicants must carefully consider whether they can submit their thesis within the remaining submission period (2 years for a master’s program, 3 years for a doctoral program) before submitting the application.

※ Ineligibility for Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility

 Students who will get the permanent course completion status on February 2026

② Departments/majors that have stopped accepting new students and that do not have any remaining students are excluded from Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility. However, students of Department of Korean Studies can apply for re-authorization of thesis/dissertation submission eligibility to Ewha Graduate School.

③ Students who applied for Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility in the past.

④ Students who were acknowledged as permanent completion due to disciplinary actions, etc.

2. Application period

- Date: 2025. 10. 22.(Wed) – 11. 5.(Wed) 17:00

- Method: Submit the required documents to GSIS Office (gsis@ewha.ac.kr) by email

- NOTE: The application must be submitted only after a meeting with the Department Chair. 

Please note that all documents may be requested in their original form at a later date if needed.

3. Required documents

1) Re-admission

- Re-admission application form (2-1 form/attached)

- Re-admission Explanation form (2-1-A form/attached)

- 1 copy of official transcript

2) Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility

- Application form for Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility (2-2 form/attached)

- 1 copy of thesis/dissertation proposal (2-2 form/attached)

- 1 copy of official transcript

- 1 copy of certificate of enrollment (재적증명서)

- Re-authorization Qualification Exam application (2-2 form/attached, only applicable to those concerned)

- Language Proficiency Exam score (only applicable to those concerned)

* The certificate of submission must be issued within 3 months from the submission date.

* For the transcript, applicants for the International Studies department must submit it in English, while applicants for the Korean Studies department must submit it in Korean.

4. Application form: Download the attached form attached in the announcement.

5. Notification of result: 

- Re-admissions: early-December, 2025

- Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission: mid-January, 2026

※ Results will be available on [‘My Eureka → Academic affairs →School registry →‘Re-admission/Re-authorization of Thesis Submission Approval Result’], as well as via email.

6. NOTE

1) Students who approved for Re-admission and Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility should register within the designed register time period and pay entrance fee and tuition.

2) Unless accepted students complete course registration and the registration process within the designed register time period, re-admission and re-authorization of thesis/dissertation submission eligibility will be canceled.

3) When re-authorized to submit a thesis or dissertation, the student must submit the thesis/dissertation within 2 years for Master’s program and 3 years for Doctoral program (this includes the semester in which she is re-granted the eligibility). They must continue to pay the fee for thesis-based registration until they pass their thesis/dissertation. 

4) Students who are granted Re-admission and Re-authorization of Thesis/Dissertation Submission Eligibility should sincerely follow the school regulation.

5) Students who have a GPA below 2.50 in the semester prior to their expulsion will be expelled again if their GPA remains below 2.50 in the semester immediately following their re-admission.
